In the late 1990's, many Maltese classrooms were still using textbooks
from Great Britain. Youngsters were getting no education about their own
unique prehistoric heritage and the importance of "those old stones in the
fields." The Old Temples Study Foundation set about with the Malta
Ministry of Education and the Museums Department to remedy that situation.
A handbook of basic information for educators to share with their students was
written, published by OTSF, and distributed in Malta's schools; public and
private.
Free Teaching Seminars were arranged with an archaeologist taking teachers on
site.
Children were encouraged to work together to create a
class project that illustrated what life was like in the time of the
Temple Culture.
All projects were displayed and each youngster who
participated received an exclusive pin.
