ANCIENT ISLAND
Traveling Exhibition

Featured in the film:
"The Temple-Builders of Malta"

Now it can
come to you!

This collection of full-size reproductions, projects and information panels
can bring the world of
prehistoric Malta & Gozo to you!

The wonder begins with a life-size sculptural interpretation of
the interior of a megalithic temple!

Unless you've been to the prehistoric temples in Malta, you've never seen anything like it!

Artifact and pottery reproductions help visitors step back more than 5,000 years
for an experiential visit with prehistory.

Colorful information panels deliver basic information about a vanished civilization which may have been the ancestors of Minoans and Egyptian dynasties, as well as a basis for the myths of Atlantis.  A video  from the Discovery Network seeks to explain this advanced and enigmatic culture, illustrating astronomical alignments and sophisticated engineering in the ancient temples in addition to complex ritual imagery.

Try your hand at moving megaliths!  The exhibition includes "hands-on" materials such as an array of musical instruments from around the world which visitors are encouraged to try.   "Starting from scratch" with raw materials is a theme of the ANCIENT ISLAND Traveling Exhibition.  Projects in various stages of development present the challenges of creating and making the basic necessities of life: from food to footwear to fishing nets.  Perhaps an important message left by ancient ancestors in the stone temples of Malta is one of respecting our natural resources and more fully appreciating our modern conveniences.

Live personal presentation, slides, lectures, special effects and guided role-playing can help create a rich learning experience.
