The Duke of Edinburgh visits Ggantija Temples in Gozo.

As HRH Princess Elizabeth, Duchess of Edinburgh, The Queen visited Malta regularly from 1949 to 1951, since the Duke of Edinburgh was stationed there during the last active appointment in his Royal Navy career.

A meeting of the Commonwealth Heads of Government is normally held once every two years. The theme of this year's Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting is 'Networking the Commonwealth for Development'.
