Brightly painted boats slowly enter the harbor, their hulls deep in the warm, turquoise water. A traditional carving adorns their prows, the Eye of Osiris, the Phoenicians' god of protection against evil. Stone farmhouses nest into the hills above the sea, rubble walls terrace the fields. The island of Odysseus, the cave of St. Paul, the megaliths carved from honey-colored rock more than 5,000 years ago, the ochre-colored domes of Baroque cathedrals against the horizon. This is Malta: mythic, sacred, beautiful.

Accommodations superbly located directly across the street from the seafront promenade; double-occupancy SEA VIEW bedrooms, private bathrooms; singles a at supplemental cost; elevators, some steps. Amenities include restaurant, lounges, swimming pool, fitness center, shops; doctor on call, internet access, currency exchange
