About 6,000 years ago, for the first time that we know of, an
ancient community began moving huge stones to enclose space in
the way they pre-designed it: architecture in its purest and
most original form.
With precision and grace, those early
people perfected engineering marvels on the islands of Malta.
The structures, which we now know are far older than Stonehenge
and the pyramids, are important evidence of the
Mediterranean’s earliest civilization.
